G-String underwear trouble?

I bought my first g string, from http://www.freshpair.com/Gregg-Homme-Tracker-Low-Rise-Pouch-45014.html and it hurts, is it to big? or how would i know there diffrent from thongs, it hurts..under.. and i dont know what else to do?
